Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
-
If you are considering booking but would like to learn more, you can submit an enquiry (see Contact).
If you are ready to book, click Book Now, select ‘Initial Appointment’ and follow the prompts.
You will receive an email confirming your appointment. You will also receive a link to complete an Intake Form - please complete this before your appointment. I also try to email each client before their first appointment, so you can ask me any questions.
-
I like using our first session to get to know one another. I usually quite a few questions so that I can learn about you, your story, and what you would like to get out of sessions.
It is completely up to you how much information you share with me. You are also welcome to ask anything that you would like to know about me.
Toward the end of session we will develop a rough plan of what working together would look like. I also take time to ensure any of your admin related questions are answered.
You can then take time to decide if you would like to work with me. Otherwise, we can go ahead and book our next session together.

Comfort! I bring items to session that comfort me, and I encourage you to do the same. A cup tea, fidgets, blankets, soft toys, a note pad - anything you like.

I attend sessions from my home office (and by office I mean a nook in my tiny apartment). My background includes a bookshelf and a lounge chair. My cats also sometimes decide to join in on sessions, though please let me know if this is distracting.

To support the sustainability of my practice, I use a program called Heidi Health – a secure, encrypted platform designed to assist clinicians by transcribing and summarising information from sessions.
Heidi Health does not record sessions. Instead, it securely de-identifies and summarises key clinical details in real-time to support accurate documentation and decrease time spent on administrative work outside of sessions. This allows me to focus more fully on client care and maintain a more balanced workload.
Heidi Health has been selected for it’s compliance with the highest international and Australian standards of privacy, including HIPAA, GDPR, PIPEDA, and the Australian Privacy Principles. All data is fully de-identified and encrypted to ensure confidentiality and security.
Your consent is required for the use of Heidi, and you can opt in or out of this in your intake form. This will not impact this quality of your care.
You can find more information through Heidi Health’s website and Privacy Policy.
Policies & Fees
-
You do not need a Medicare plan to start sessions. However, it can make sessions more affordable.
If you do have a Medicare plan from your doctor, you can claim a rebate for sessions. This can be through an Eating Disorder Treatment and Management Plan (EDP) or Chronic Disease Management Plan.
The Medicare rebate for dietetics is currently $61.80. After the session fee has been paid, your claim submitted to Medicare on your behalf. Medicare will then provide you with the rebate.
The Medicare rebate increases once you pass the Medical Safety Net Threshold. You can find more information at Services Australia.
-
If your NDIS plan includes dietetics, you can use this to fund sessions with no out of pocket cost. This includes both plan-managed and self-managed plans. If you are unsure if your plan includes dietetics, check with your care coordinator, plan manager or LAC.
-
Body Peace Dietetics offers multiple fee structures to meet the diverse financial needs of clients.
Please use the Fee Guide to determine which fee structure applies to you. You can nominate a fee structure when completing your intake form.
If you do not select an alternative option, the Standard Fee Structure will be applied. This is recommended for clients who can access sessions without experiencing financial hardship.
You can change your fee structure whenever you need to.
-
Cancellations or reschedules with less than 24 hours notice incur 100% of the session fee. This period includes my non-working days (Fri-Sun).
Exceptions include illness, emergency, or circumstances beyond your control.
Please note cancellation fees are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
